Hotel quarantine 14-day activity program

Activities and suggestions to keep busy and connected in hotel quarantine

To help stimulate the body and mind through positive physical and mental activity, a 14-day program of daily activities has been created for returned travellers and community members staying in COVID-19 Quarantine accommodation. 

Each day there will be a selection of fun, educational activities for both adults and children. Activity packs can also be found in your room. 

We hope you enjoy the activity program.

  • Time Activity

    First thing

    Playgroup

    Stay connected with your playgroup community with live and interactive sessions on zoom run by the program facilitators at Playgroup at Home. For children aged 0-5.

    Towel creation activity

    Learn how to use your bath towels and make a snake, baby monkey, elephant, swan, seahorse, mouse and crab. Take some photos and send them to your family and friends. Fun for all ages

    Afternoon

    Live bingo at 3pm

    Join a live bingo session online with Billy Bingo. For adults.

    How to play

    1. Download your free BINGO cards and choose the date you want to play
    2. Go to RT BINGO on Facebook (closed group page to maintain your privacy) and register for approval.
    3. Once you have been approved, you will be able to watch the live stream RT BINGO session every Monday at 3pm.
    4. Open your bingo cards using the Adobe Acrobat Reader app. You can download the app for your  laptop or mobile device for free if you don't already have it. This will allow you to mark off your numbers with a red X as you play.  Remember to click “Clear Ticket” at the bottom after each game. Have fun and good luck!

    Please note: All players must be verified current quarantine guests to meet eligibility criteria for prizes.

    Puppet show activity

    Create puppets using paper, plates, plastic utensils and textas then put on a show. Get crafty with some sticky tape and make some accessories or costumes. For families and children.

    Put items from your hotel room on a towel (or anything to put items in). Memorise the items for 20 seconds then cover the contents.     Steve Ellen (Professor of Psychiatry at Melbourne University) talks about ways to look after your mental wellbeing. You can also explore other resources on the Wellbeing Victoria website that can help you to look after yourself while you are in quarantine.

    Use your mobile phone or tablet to create a film. You can create characters or stories and act them out, and the films can then be sent to your friends or family. For all ages.
