Hotel services, essential items and deliveries while in hotel quarantine

Residents can access a range of services and essentials while in hotel quarantine.

In quarantine you will have access to a range of services and essential items including:

  • onsite medical care and welfare support
  • three meals with drinks and three snacks a day that meet your reasonable dietary requirements
  • essential personal items, such as toiletries and baby products
  • toys, games and crafts for children

Meals and alcohol

Meals will be left outside your room door in sealed containers with disposable cutlery to limit the risk of COVID-19 transmission. This will help keep you and staff safe.

Alcohol can be ordered through the hotel bar at your own cost and will be delivered to your door. Alcohol will not be served if you are intoxicated, aged under 18 years or if it is unsafe. Due to liquor licensing laws, alcohol deliveries from outside the hotel are not allowed.


You can order deliveries to make your time in quarantine more comfortable, such as prepared meals from certified meal delivery services and certain grocery stores.

  • Family and friends cannot deliver or send you items, including food or care packages, due to the risk of transmission.
  • Deliveries will be inspected.
  • Illegal items are not allowed. Suspected illegal items will be reported to police.

Meal deliveries

You can order from the meal delivery services Deliveroo, Menulog or Uber Eats. Meal deliveries can be received between 8am and 8pm every day, subject to any restrictions on food services. You have to pay for any food and delivery costs yourself.

Grocery and supermarket deliveries

You can order groceries, essential items and snacks for delivery from Coles and Woolworths supermarkets.

You are not allowed to order alcohol or cigarettes.

Do not order supermarket food that requires cooking or any preparation as there are no cooking facilities or equipment in your room. Fruit and vegetables for snacking are OK if no preparation or use of utensils, microwaves, ovens, stoves or other cooking equipment are required. 

Ordering a delivery

Before making your first delivery order, you will need to complete a Consent for Inspection Form giving permission for your delivery to be inspected before it is taken to your room. Please phone reception for this form. 

Each time you are ready to order a delivery, notify reception about which delivery service you are using and the expected delivery time.

Your delivery will be inspected on arrival and taken to your room door. Any alcohol and cigarettes will be removed and returned to you when you exit quarantine. Suspected illegal items will be reported to Victoria Police.


Smoking is not allowed anywhere in your accommodation and you are not allowed to buy cigarettes. The accommodation provider may impose a cleaning charge on you for smoking in your room.

Pet care

Call the Government Support Service on 1800 960 944 to make the necessary arrangements for any pets.

Exercise and outside breaks

You are not allowed to leave your room during quarantine unless permitted by an Authorised Officer. Requests may be considered and permission granted by Authorised Officers for medical or mental health reasons. Learn more about applying for temporary leave.


Personal items can be laundered by the hotel. Single and twin rooms have a $40 laundry allowance per room. Rooms with three or more people have an $80 laundry allowance per room.

You will need to pay laundry costs beyond these amounts. To request access to the laundry service, contact reception.
