VicRoads licensing and registration

VicRoads’ customer service centres remain open for urgent matters, and by appointment only. We encourage you to complete matters online or by phone.

The quickest and easiest way to view your vehicle information, update your registration period, change your personal details and manage registration payments and reminders is through a myVicRoads account.

To book an appointment for an urgent matter, please call 13 11 71 (VicRoads is currently unable to take online appointment bookings).

Hardship and special circumstance appointments

If you would experience undue hardship as a result of not sitting a licence test, you may be eligible to apply to VicRoads to undertake a light vehicle drive or computer-based test. Find out if you’re eligible for a hardship and special circumstances appointment.

Licence testing for metropolitan Melbourne

Licence testing will resume in metropolitan Melbourne when the city moves to the Third Step of the roadmap for reopening.

Licence testing for regional Victoria

All licence testing has resumed in regional Victoria with additional safety and cleaning measures in place. Customers can book an appointment online, at your nearest customer service centre, or by calling 13 11 71.

To protect the health and wellbeing of all customers and staff, strict hygiene protocols will be in place in both drive test vehicles and at VicRoads customer service centres. Learn more on the VicRoads website.
