Michael - Coronavirus Survivor

00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:02,440

I was feeling sick. I had a temperature.

00:00:02,440 --> 00:00:07,200

And um, uh, I was um, already having breathing issues.

00:00:07,200 --> 00:00:09,468

And so, went to the fever clinic.

00:00:09,468 --> 00:00:12,480

Tested positive for corona.

00:00:12,480 --> 00:00:15,200

And so, I, I got worse.

00:00:15,200 --> 00:00:22,339

Um, I got so bad that I had to call an ambulance and I ended up being admitted.

00:00:22,339 --> 00:00:24,487

It was – it was like drowning.

00:00:24,487 --> 00:00:27,563

I have coughing fits that go for one to two minutes.

00:00:27,563 --> 00:00:33,560

I developed pneumonia, anemia, and I also developed, uh, nerve damage.

00:00:33,560 --> 00:00:37,480

I think two days after I was intubated, I was put in induced coma.

00:00:37,480 --> 00:00:42,480

The doctors thought that I was going to, uh, basically that I was going to die.

00:00:42,480 --> 00:00:46,680

Well I was asleep, and I - I didn’t know that my wife got sick.

00:00:46,680 --> 00:00:50,332

And her mum, who got corona, most likely from her.

00:00:50,332 --> 00:00:53,241

Uhh, and then, passed away.

00:00:53,241 --> 00:00:58,480

It, it breaks my heart that, um, I wasn’t there for her,

00:00:58,480 --> 00:01:00,880

while she was grieving her mum.

00:01:00,880 --> 00:01:07,800

After being in hospital for 72 days, I know how it affected me, and members of my family.
