Set up your QR code locations and areas

When you register for a QR code, you'll need to specify your name, industry, locations and areas.

Victoria’s community is diverse. Businesses, organisations, clubs and events from all industries can register for the Victoria Government QR Code Service. Below is a guide to setting up your QR code.

Name

This your business, organisation, club or event name.

For example:

  • Bunnings Pty Ltd
  • Coffee Club Pty Ltd
  • St Mark’s Lutheran Church
  • Get Fit Personal Training
  • Peter MacCarthy’s 50th birthday
  • John Price and Lucy Townsend’s wedding
  • Very Fun Run Marathon Pty Ltd

Industry

This refers to the industry your business, organisation or club belongs to. For events, select 'Other Services'.

The industries include:

  • Accommodation and Food Services
  • Administrative and Support Services
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing
  • Arts and Recreation Services
  • Construction
  • Education and Training
  • Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services
  • Financial and Insurance Services
  • Health Care and Social Assistance
  • Information Media and Telecommunications
  • Manufacturing
  • Mining
  • Other Services
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services
  • Public Administration and Safety
  • Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services
  • Retail Trade
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing
  • Wholesale Trade

Location

Some businesses, organisations, clubs and events will have more than one location. If you have more than one, you need to register each of them.

This section is for different areas within a location.

For example:

It may not be appropriate for some locations to have areas (e.g. at a private house). In these cases, posters should be displayed and easily accessible to prevent visitors from grouping. Multiple posters should be printed and displayed in each area of each location.
